It's not just about the sizzle and the sauce, it's a clash of culinary titans where the steaks are high, and the chicken is low... and slow.
With live entertainment and local vendors, this BBQ showdown is the perfect place to prove you're the royalty of the rib rack and the sovereign of the smoker!
So, grab your tongs and apron, and may the best BBQer win!
**Competitors will not be cooking for the public, only for the competition judges. There will be food vendors at the event**
Application deadline is Sunday May 19. You can pick up your application in person at Medels Meats at 2940 Dominion Blvd in Windsor, or send them a message on Facebook and they will send you the forms.

On-Location for McHappy Day, May 8, 2024
We had a great time on-location for McHappy Day at McDonalds on Ojibway Parkway.
With 16 specialty children's hospitals in Canada, many families need to travel to receive treatment for their sick child. RMHC program locations across Canada shorten the distance, by giving families a place to stay together, close to the health care their child needs.
Song Writing Workshop
Ever thought about being a song writer but didn’t know where to start?
CKRT Border City Radio is offering a Music Workshop to learn how to write your own songs.
Classes will be taught by a professional musician and will consist of the following:
- Taught in a radio studio
- Small classes (four people maximum at a time for more one-on-one time for each participant)
- Your song will be recorded by you in a professional recording studio
- You will have the option to be interviewed on the air to talk about your song and introduce it to be played on the air
- Classes will be held one evening each week for four weeks.
Requirements:
- Ages 12 and over are invited to apply
- We are located in Amherstburg, so you must be able to travel if you’re from out of town
- You do not need to know how to play an instrument
- You must want to have fun and be creative
Costs:
- The cost of the course is $500.00 and includes all materials and studio time
